Follow the Firefly began with a simple observation. The moments that shape us are rarely the biggest ones; in fact, more often, they’re easy to miss. This is a place for stories, reflections, and questions that encourage us to slow down and engage in reflective practice, seeing the world a little differently. Some of these reflections stem from my work in dementia care, while others arise from music, travel, family life, and the everyday moments in senior care that often pass us by. I hope you'll find something here that stays with you long after you've finished reading.

One teacher. One moment of encouragement. A lifetime of influence.
A music teacher once saw something in me that I couldn't yet see in myself. Decades later, that simple act of encouragement continues to shape my work, my music, and the way I connect with others, particularly in the context of senior care. This experience has influenced my reflective practice in areas like dementia care, where understanding individual moments can have profound effects on quality of life.
If something here has sparked a thought, a memory, or a question about dementia care, I'd love to hear from you. Follow the Firefly is a place for stories, reflection, and conversation, especially in the context of senior care. Reflection grows through connection, which is vital in reflective practice.
